BEFORE FITTING THE COMPRESSOR PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING
Visually inspect the new unit for any damage, visually check the replreplacement unit against the item on the car to ensure they are the same before removing old unit.
Remove compressor, drier and expansion valve.
Compare the old compressor and new compressor:
- Number of grooves.
- Pulley diameter.
- The pulley alignment measured from compressor body to middle of front groove.
- Measure the diameter of the suction and discharge ports on new and old compressor.
- On some compressors it may be necessary to swap manifold plate and wiring plug from old
- Flush entire system with a flushing solvent.
- Flush the line between the discharge port on the compressor and the condenser.
- Flush the line between the condenser and the filter drier, if condenser is subcooled proceed to next point.
- Flush the line between the filter drier and expansion valve/orifice tube depending on system.
- Flush the line between the
- Drain compressor to ensure it has the correct amount of oil, (if replacement compressor does not already have this information displayed).
- Drain compressor to ensure it has the correct amount of oil, (if replacement compressor does not already have this information displayed).
- Install the new filter drier.
- Install the expansion valve or orifice tube
- Now evacuate the system for 30 minutes minimum prior to leak testing. Ensure no leaks are present, check system operating pressures and temperatures, ensure the radiator/condenser fans work correctly. You must ensure the high side pressures are not excessive and that the low side is not too low.
- When fitting clutchless type compressors it is sometimes necessary to have the fault codes removed from the computer memory otherwise the compressor may not receive the correct feed and will not pump.
- There will be a reason why the original compressor failed and you must find and rectify this underlying fault otherwise the replacement will fail
- YOU MUST ENSURE THE COMPRESSOR IS FITTED CORRECTLY AND TO THE INSTRUCTIONS OTHERWISE THERE WILL BE NO WARRANTY.
